Points table of IPL 2009

Indian Premier League IPL has kicked off with surprising results along with action packed cricket. IPL has finished its first seesion and except Kolkata Knight Riders everyone seems to be somewhat equal. Deccan was the leader from front but it has now dropped. The IPL standing has been shown by the following league table:

Teams Matches Won Lost Tie/NR Points NRR

IPL Delhi 14 10 4 0 20 0.31

IPL Chennai 14 8 5 1 17 0.95

IPL Bangalore 14 8 6 0 16 -0.19

IPL Hyderabad 14 7 7 0 14 0.20

IPL Mohali 14 7 7 0 14 -0.48

IPL Jaipur 14 6 7 1 13 -0.35

IPL Mumbai 14 5 8 1 11 0.29

IPL Kolkata 14 3 10 1 7 -0.78

From this point in Indian Premier league, one cannot easily expect the end. Any four from the teams may advance to the semi-finals and finally grab the trophy. Kolkata Knight Riders with similar performances will not be able to reach the semis definitely. Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians though leading from front are currently not in great form. Rajasthan Royals after poor opening in IPL has rised up. Delhi seems to be brilliant. Chennai and Punjab too are in some touch.

You may find the teams - Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Superkings, Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians and their postition, points, matches won, lost, net run rate and more in IPL 2009.

  4. In case of a super over scenario -

What happens if 2 batsmen get out in super over, does the 3rd batsmen still bat or is it the end of innings before the super over is completed?

  5. Yusuf Abdulla bowled a defining final over to ensure a narrow three-run win for Kings XI Punjab against Mumbai Indians in Durban
